The Progressive Socialist Party’s Information Commission indicated in a statement that “the memory of the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his two companions, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoub and journalist Abbas Badr al-Din, has been resolved, while this issue remains an open wound in the national memory, and knowing its truth is an established right that does not lapse with the passage of time or changing circumstances.” She said: “Imam al-Sadr represented a prominent milestone in the country’s history, with his call for rapprochement between the Lebanese, his bias towards social justice, and his belief in dialogue, coexistence, and the finality of the entity. These are principles that today gain double importance in light of the Israeli enemy’s continuous attacks and exposed plans to annex Lebanese lands, and the accompanying attempts to strike the country’s unity and threaten its sovereignty.” Al-Taqadudi renewed his demand to “reveal the full circumstances of this case.” He stressed that “loyalty to the legacy of Imam al-Sadr requires preserving civil peace, strengthening national partnership, and adhering to the unity of Lebanon.”  His sovereignty and his rejection of all the projects of division or dismantling that are being promoted.
